Since the last picture was so appreciated by my readers I thought everyone would enjoy another from what was apparently the same weekend of self congratulation and posing with oversize cheques. I don't even have to really add a caption to this one, as they themselves had the perfect title written on the sign behind themselves. This is Clod and Kevy once again with the mayor of Kamloops who obviously knows which posteriors require osculation.
I guess all mayors aren't as "adaptable" or how else explain that Stephen Harper didn't even bother to inform the mayor of Castlegar when he came to his town? Awhile back (not so)Little Stevie (no)Wonder flew into Castlegar and met with his local supporters in a rented broom closet and the Mayor of Castlegar heard about the visit from the PM the same way I did, on the radio news. I'm glad to live in an area NOT represented in Victoria by a BC Liar or in Ottawa by a ReFormaTory.
We still get the goodies locally as well! Just this morning we hear that that extra from the Sopranos, Rich Coleman - Minister of Housing, has addressed the homeless issue in Nelson. He has sent $65,000 to hire somebody, who already has a house to live in, to go tell the homeless why they are such losers and how they too can get their own home. Well maybe they could hire some of the homeless to harass those who owe student loans to BC. Oops, I forgot, they outsource that to Ontario, we're doing all we can to keep Ontario from becoming a have not province. Well, that's all I got, back to you Rich, don't leave home without your mousse properly applied!

Please show us a photo of a cheque for $1Billion being presented to somebody -- anybody -- representing the Province of British Columbia, as proof that money did change hands over the "sale" of BC Rail.

Jeepers Mary, no can do!
Why do I think that if they could, that photo would certainly be out there, not only out there, but promoted DAILY by their enablers in what we charitably call the LameStream media, especially Canned Waste/GlowBall? GlowBall would use it as a station identification backdrop, if it existed - they aren't quite to the stage of making up stuff THAT MUCH, YET!
Of course there is the lying part, you know, "I won't sell BC Rail" and all. The Billion Dollar cheque pic would kinda contradict the various weasel words they use to say they didn't sell BC Rail. Besides, I guess it dribbles in over 990 years or something and lets face it, even a Billion Dollars isn't much amortized over a thousand years.
Hell, I coulda bought BC Rail on those kinda terms. I guess I never left enough in the Political Donation Plate or don't dine at Villa del Lupo with the right folks.
Coot, I think you're wrong in dismissing the money for housing outreach workers so quickly.
Sure, much more needs to be done and an outreach worker's job is a lot harder when there isn't enough appropriate housing.
But these people can make a big difference for individuals and for communities. There are a lot of people out there blocked from getting housing by fairly simple obstacles - problems dealing with welfare or the lack of a damage deposit or just bewilderment about where to start.
A single outreach worker who can help them sort that stuff out can produce great results.
It's an excellent program. Don't slag it. Send Coleman a note saying it's appreciated and urge action on the next step that's needed.
