I guess I was fooled by the glasses, and it turns out they are safety glasses, to keep the small pieces of brain she MAY possess from leaking out her eye sockets. They weren't the "intellectual" glasses she wears when she's being well.......I guess she never wears that pair.

Anyway Christy showed up in North Van yesterday to do yet another photo-op of a re-announcement of projects dating back to the administration of Amor de Cosmos. The only possible "new" money in the spiel was the $700 million to be applied to un-specified "infrastructure," though it seems likely she may just ask the CEO of Teck what he wants her to do with the money. It is offensive that this government that can't find money to clean hospitals, for education, or children in distress or even incredibly hideous, $40,000 to translate documents to prosecute a child predator, can find yet more money for the Ministry of Corporate Welfare.

Mind ya'll, I'm not that cool with the forty grand cost for translating some documents....I would think you could get the Bible translated into two or three languages for that, or maybe translating services is even better than the Tar biz under Harper.

Even that isn't the prize winner for offending your correspondent and winning the prize for the most excessive unmitigated gall of the month, so far, anyway. Premier NotAPremier Craven Christy had the unmitigated gall to compare herself and her colleagues and her "agenda" (pretending here that she has one, other than sitting in the big chair) to W.A.C. Bennett. I haven't been able to find a transcript with the exact lines from her North Van mutterings, maybe no one will publish them for fear of being sued for EMBARRASSING the Queen. For her to claim she is continuing the legacy of Wacky Bennett in building infrastructure to open up BC is really offensive. That is the equivalent of Ronald Reagan or Ayn Rand (or Rand Paul) claiming to be building on the foundation of FDR's New Deal.

Christy is now the leader and has always been either a leader among or a cheerleader for the gang that has spent well over a decade now doing everything they possibly can to tear down and destroy EVERYTHING W.A.C. Bennett built for and with the people of British Columbia from BC Rail to BC Hydro to BC Ferries. W.A.C. (whose rhetoric belied the fact that he was more of a socialist than the modern day NDP) essentially nationalized companies who were failing to serve the province and provide essential services, transportation and energy - and made it possible for the people of the province to develop and benefit from the jointly owned resources with which we were blessed. The Campbell/Clark Mob have been all about returning the people's assets to their plutocratic friends and relatives and ensure the benefits flow to Howe Street and Wall Street!
